Online Application Submission

In addition to completing the online application form you will need to upload the following documents:

  • Current resume which should detail education, teachers, coaches, and conductors; performance experience; and honors. Microsoft Word (.doc /.docx), “.txt”, “.rtf”, or PDF formats only. Maximum file size is 3.7 MB.
  • Recent digital photo (head shot image) in .JPG file format (1568 x 2360 or 5.2″ x 7.9″ dimensions) at 300 dpi resolution. PDF is also acceptable. Maximum file size is 3 MB.
  • A list of arias with the composer and opera titles in the order they appear on the CD, MP3 files and You Tube links and specify which aria you wish the judges to hear first. The CD or electronic media supplied must contain a minimum of three, maximum of five arias. Repertoire for this round need not be the same as for the SEMI-FINAL and FINAL Rounds. More than one language is preferred, but English is not a requirement.

Please make sure that your name appears as part of each file that you upload.

The PRELIMINARY Round CD or electronic media links and files must be received in the Annapolis Opera office by noon, March 3, 2017 (Annapolis Opera is not responsible for delivery delays.)

CDs should be labeled with applicant name, contact information and aria titles. Please include your name in all electronic media files.

Online payment must be made upon completion of the online application.

The online submission automatically closes at midnight (EST), February 24, 2017.

Upon completion and submission of the online application (AND application fee payment), you will receive a separate email confirmation at the email address you have provided. All correspondence regarding your application and your completion status will be via the email address that you have provided so be sure that you check the accuracy of your email address before submissionYou will not be able to change any application information AFTER submitting the form so check and double check your entries.

Personal Information

  • Arias for PRELIMINARY Round submission. CD, MP3 and YouTube submissions will be accepted. For electronic submissions, send to AOVocalComp@comcast.net and include your name and that of the aria in the link. For CDs, list the arias in the order in which they appear on the CD and be sure to test the CD before sending it.   • All applicants must submit a list of five memorized operatic arias. All arias must be in their original language and key, in at least three different languages, including English, of contrasting styles and tempi and no more than five minutes in length. The judges will interrupt arias lasting longer than five minutes.
