An important part of the Annapolis Opera Company’s mission is to support young American singers, with emphasis on the mid-Atlantic region, who are aspiring to professional careers.

Opportunities are providedthrough auditioning these singers for leading roles in the opera productions, and by sponsoring a vocal competition with substantial study prizes.

Auditions for Annapolis Opera’s 2010-2011 season will be held in January at the Academy for Vocal Arts (AVA) in Philadelphia (Date TBA) and at Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts in Annapolis on January 21 & 22, 2011.

The 23rd Annual Annapolis Opera Vocal Competition Preliminarys (CD review only) will be held in February, 2011. Semi-finals will be held on April 1st or 2nd, 2011and the Finals concert will be on April 10, 2011. Both semi-finals and finals will be at Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts in Annapolis.
